Utopia Resort Manali

Very good overall. The rooms are tidy, and parking and Wi-Fi are available, along with a smart TV, though I missed having any OTT channel. The food tastes very good too, except for the coffee. I’d prefer the buffet option over Ala' Kart.

I left before my checkout date after seeing how the staff treated another guest. I watched Mr Pramod get into a dispute over a promotional session whose time hadn't been shared before arrival. He had plans to visit Manali and asked several times if they could move the session, but they refused. When he got frustrated and raised his voice, staff told him to check out early, saying he was rude and wouldn't attend. I asked the manager to let him join our family for the session, but the manager refused and spoke rudely. The offer had drawn me in too. At first the staff were very friendly, but once you’re there, the experience can turn into a real ordeal. They hold these business promotion sessions at set times, usually later in the day, and don't tell guests beforehand, so they can clash with sightseeing plans. In my experience, avoid booking any property run by the Karma group.

Try the trout fish at the restaurant. The museum was amazing too, so make time for it on your Manali trip. The property is beautiful and well managed, in a good spot near Hadimba mata temple, and the staff were friendly.

The roads are quite narrow, so we ran into a little traffic. Apart from that, Utopia Resort and spa Manali with Jeel is a beautiful place to visit. We had a five star luxury stay, and like the other Karma group resorts, it was well maintained and hygienic.
