The Sana Beach Resort

At first glance, the architecture and infrastructure made the property look ideal, but our room was extremely small. The place seemed old and dirty, with no maintenance or hospitality to speak of. The large pool had street dogs drinking from it like a public pond. We also learned during our visit that a horrible incident had happened there, a child aged about 6-7 had died in the pool. Not worth visiting.

There are some nice outdoor spots here: the hut seating has a good ambience, and the three hammocks are great for hanging out. The beach is close and accessible 24/7. Helpful staff can get you sporting equipment, and there’s a Handicraft bazar selling handmade clay statues. You can relax by the pool, which has a mini jacuzzi, and buy booze at the bar to enjoy nearby. Parking by your room is handy. The resort is big and green, good for a stroll, and has a village-like suburban feel that I really liked. The room, though, was only average for the price. I stayed in Room 109. The bathroom was tiny, with an old-fashioned shower and jet spray, and there was no way to choose between hot and cold water. The hard mattress was uncomfortable, and the 22 inch TV was a basic non smart set with basic channels. There could be network issues, and our calls for help weren’t answered even on the LAN telephone. The service was VERY PATHETIC: they wouldn’t even bring a water bottle to the room. We waited almost 1 to 1.5 hours for restaurant food despite there being only two other families there, and the server didn’t bring the dish to us. Breakfast was average. The sabji with puri was bland, though I really loved the idli with chutney. P. S. I'm Mallu, so if I say the idli was good, it genuinely was. The Spa wasn’t good either, with only 2 staffs and they were often absent.

There’s a lovely aesthetic feel to the resort, with soothing music playing 24×7 that made me feel close to nature. The scenic views and cleanliness across the property impressed me. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, and the rooms were good, though there’s room to improve them. I had a wonderful stay and found it a great place to relax.

The property is large, but upkeep is poor, and the room wasn’t up to the mark. The AC temperature wouldn’t change, and I was very unhappy with the stay. Food quality was good, but ordering at the restaurant meant waiting 2-3 hrs. My expensive watch also went missing and was never found. The service was really bad. I wouldn’t recommend it.
