Hotel Royal Inn

We'd booked an AC room for two days for almost 5k, but when we arrived, reception said there were no rooms and put us in a non-AC one for the day. We accepted because it was peak season, every other hotel was full, and we had no other option. The room and bathroom were filthy and stank, with broken windows and a broken door that felt unsafe. There were mosquitoes too. There's nothing good about this hotel. Someone with OCD could have an attack seeing the place. I can't describe how pathetic and stinky it was.

I had a confirmed booking made well ahead of time, but just before I was due to arrive, the hotel called to say there'd been a "mistake" and my room wasn't available. They blamed it on one employee, saying "that lady was mistaken." That's not an adequate response. I booked with the hotel, not with an individual staff member. A confirmed reservation should be honored, and a reputable place should manage its room inventory properly instead of telling a paying guest at the last minute that they have nowhere to stay. Completely unacceptable.

The one good thing is the prime location. The rooms weren't clean and smelled bad as soon as we walked in, and there's no lift. The fans ran so slowly that they'd be unbearable in heavy summer heat. I wouldn't recommend it to people travelling with family.

The service was good, and the price is reasonable for a place right in the heart of the city. The room was okay, but the bedsheets weren't clean and there was no hot water.
