Hotel Sarah International

The only upside I found was the location near KMC. It was very disappointing otherwise. The hotel was costly, the rooms were in awful shape, especially the toilets, and everything seemed like a botched job. Cigarette smoke stank up the corridors, and the DJ noise at night made it hard to rest. The reception staff weren’t very receptive and seemed to take their frustrations out on customers. There also wasn’t a decent place to wait if you arrived early. I wouldn’t recommend this to families.

It’s in a peaceful, safe location, with good connections and autos available across the road. The rooms are spacious, and both the hotel and staff are good. Room upkeep and staff training could use some work, though improving those two things would make the experience better.

We tried Sarah because Country Inn was fully booked and the reviews looked good. That was a mistake. Our first room had very dirty bedsheets, so we asked to move. The new room had no towels or tissues, insects in the bathroom, and the extra bed we paid for was only a mattress. We asked for towels and for housekeeping to clean the bathroom. The insects were gone afterward, but there were footprints everywhere. The cleaner had cleaned with his shoes on. There were insects on the bed too, and the bar music was so loud at night that we couldn’t sleep properly. Most of the staff seemed confused and understood very little of what we said. Don’t let the ratings fool you. Do yourself a favour and stay away from Sarah.

It’s clean and hygienic, with reasonable charges and nearby restaurants. Ginger garlic, its own restaurant, is on the first floor. Complimentary breakfast includes idli, dosa, cut fruit, eggs, tea, and more, though room service can sometimes be annoying. Otherwise, it’s a decent place to stay.
