Auro Beach Resort

The clean beach was uncrowded and only a minute away, great for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The sea facing rooms have a mini pool and lovely bay views, and you can look out over the ocean from the porch. It's a perfect spot for two, with friendly, helpful staff and excellent restaurant food.

The hotel is a good budget option in a convenient location if you've got your own car. The rooms are clean and large, the pool is a good size, and there's plenty of space to sit outside and relax. You can walk to the beach, although even though it's directly behind the hotel, you have to reach it from outside. There were no cloth hangers in the cupboard or toilet. If you stay more than one night, they don't provide bottled drinking water. We asked several times before they gave us tap water. Breakfast was buffet style only on Sunday; on other days, they gave everyone one box. They didn't change the sheets or towel, and when we asked, they said they were out of stock. We also sent clothes to be cleaned.

We booked four days and three nights in October. It's a decent place with the basic facilities working well, but it isn't a luxurious resort. The location is away from the crowded city, and the staff were very polite and helpful. Food was homely, though there weren't many options. Rooms stayed clean and got good daily cleaning. We spent most of our time visiting tourist spots, so we weren't in the room much, and it served that purpose. The amenities fit the room price, while other places around there cost much more. If the more luxurious resorts are too expensive or unavailable, this could be a useful backup.
