We were told, and even got an SMS, that checkout followed a 24-hour cycle. Later management changed the policy and made us leave seven hours early. They said we'd have to pay 4k extra to complete the 24 hours. It was a terrible experience.

Breakfast isn't recommended. We ordered one Dili, one Vada, and Upma, but the Upma had no salt or spices, while the sambar was both too sour and too sweet. The cutlery and plates weren't clean, and neither was the kitchen. It was self-service, and we had to wait at the cash counter for five minutes.

This is just about the restaurant. We had lunch, ordering South Indian meals and gobi manchurian. The food was good compared with other nearby hotels, and service was quick.

We found this the best of the many hotels I've stayed at during my frequent visits to Mantralayam. Sree Guru Pavanasuta Residency is budget-friendly and close to the temple, with plenty of parking. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The lift, AC, and TV all worked, which made the stay convenient. There were lots of mosquitoes, though, and that could be improved. Still, it was an excellent stay.

The idli was good, and so was the fried rice, though at 220 it costs much more than at nearby places. The coffee was pathetic.
