OYO 2320 Hotel Mayura Novacity

The staff were very nice, and the rooms are average budget rooms, probably the best fit if that’s what you’re after. I stayed for a week, but there was no room service. The bathroom taps didn’t work properly, and the room and blanket smelled bad when we arrived. At night, I saw street dogs coming up the stairs to the floors. The room itself was just okay.

Near Mapusa Bus Stand, this is a nice hotel with AC rooms in two-bed and three-bed setups. Rooms are good, there are hot water boilers, and plenty of car parking.

The restaurant on the 4th floor has pleasant seating, a nice atmosphere, space between tables for some privacy, and a few things to keep kids busy. The food was mixed: starters were okay, the Hot n Sour Soup and Monchow Soup tasted almost the same with more garlic than they should have, and the main dishes were overpriced. Service was poor there too. We had to ask for water after ordering starters, got only four glasses for six people, then had to ask again for the other two. At the hotel, housekeeping and waiters seemed very lazy. We chose it for the Mapusa market location and budget rooms, but regretted it. I’d confirmed a 9 am check-in online and called around 8, yet we waited about an hour and got the room close to 10. The lift menu listed lots of breakfast options, but until 11 am they only had bread-butter and omelette. The next day they said there was no bread, so plain omelette was the only choice or we could eat outside. During our three-day stay, no one offered to clean or change the sheets, and we had to ask for towels or soap. When we left, reception just said there were no dues and we were checked out. No one asked for feedback, offered a visiting card, or even said goodbye with a smile.

The restaurant isn’t administratively connected to the hotel, so it’s unclear where complaints go, though ours were handled. We also found the coffee inconsistent, and a kettle would’ve helped. The room toilets need repairs and a better clean, including the cleaning window and tiles. Electrical fixes should be urgent too: the first room we saw had a burnt-out plug hidden behind pillows, which is a safety hazard. I’ve had mixed experiences at OYO properties, but this was a big miss, especially given how low our expectations already were.
