The in-house restaurant served tasty, very hygienic food, and the rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were courteous, with Yogesh ji and Sahil ji making us feel especially welcome. Pragati Palace is centrally placed for Gokul, Janam Bhoomi, Vrindavan, and Jatipura. We stayed three nights and I’ll definitely come back.

Since a room was available, I booked online after the staff refused to show it to me, saying they weren’t taking online bookings and quoting a price much higher than the one posted online. When I got to reception, they refused to honor the booking and told me to cancel. I got the same response from the owner, Mr Himesh, who was arrogant and rude. If you don’t want to accept online bookings, please don’t list the hotel online. It makes for a terrible customer experience.

The location made this stay easy to manage. Hotel Pragati Palace is in Krishna Nagar, right beside Kalyan Jewellers, and only about a 5-minute drive from Krishna Janmabhoomi. It’s also a clean, accessible option near Mathura Railway Station. I had a wonderful stay, and it felt worth the price.

The morning receptionist treats guests rudely and has made bad comments and allegations toward women. He doesn’t seem to know how to speak to or respect them, and argues with female guests. Even for regular guests, the prices keep going up on each visit. It feels like he does this to keep some money for himself.
