SPOT ON 44698 Himalayan Foothills Homestay

I picked this place because I had an early flight and it was fairly close to the airport. My room was clean, and they had mosquito repellent and spray available, which helped since there were mosquitoes. The host made me a homemade dinner and arranged a ride to the airport in the morning. A really good stay, I’d recommend it to other travellers.

Priyadarshini di made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. She’s the owner, a wonderfully humble and friendly person, and looked after all my needs. The food, cleanliness, atmosphere, service, and hospitality were better than what I’ve found in some 4/5 star hotels. This isn’t a 4/5 star hotel, but there’s something special about the place. It was one of my favourite homestays during my time in Siliguri. My respect to Priyadarshini Di for the care she puts into it, and thank you for such warm hospitality.

I booked through OYO and paid in advance, but when I got to the property, the owner said there were no rooms and claimed no payment had come through. She wouldn’t even let me sit inside while we talked. It was the worst treatment I’ve had at any place I’ve stayed. I contacted OYO because I’d been denied the booking and wanted a refund. Their support team cancelled it, but the owner told them I had cancelled because I didn’t like the room, so they said I wasn’t eligible for a refund. I lost both my money and my peace of mind. I’d give zero stars if I could. Never try this homestay.

The host’s homemade food is delicious, and the rooms are clean and well kept. The place is very near bagdogra airport, and I’d recommend it to anyone staying nearby. Book online, then pay in cash, since she doesn’t take online payments. Thanks, didi, for the smooth service. 😊
