The rooms cost Rs.2000 each before taxes, but there wasn’t even drinking water in them, and no TV either. Getting any response meant going to reception and shouting. The manager wasn’t kind to customers, and the service was poor from the start. A really bad stay, nowhere near worth the money.

The staff were good, but there’s no restaurant and parking is limited. This old hotel still has the same beds and pillows it bought ten years ago, and the rates are far too high for its current state. The whole place needs refurbishing. It’s opposite the old bus stand, but I wouldn’t recommend it for families. Stay here only if you have no other choice.

The hotel can arrange taxis to nearby temples, and there’s parking and a lift. Morning hot water was excellent, and the staff were friendly. It’s a four-storey building with plenty of rooms, so a phone call is enough to get one without booking online in advance. The restaurant space is there but isn’t operating, though plenty of good vegetarian restaurants are nearby. It’s opposite the old bus stand in Mayiladuthurai. The reception’s wood paneling suggests this may have been one of the best hotels years ago; updating the furniture and paint would help.

The toilets could have been cleaner, but otherwise it was a decent stay. Towels and blankets were supplied, the mattress was good, and warm water was available. The staff were kind, the lift worked well, and there’s some parking. It’s an older hotel that’s been managed fairly well, very close to Mayavaram bus stop. One of the better places to stay in Mayavaram/Mayiladhuthurai.
