Hotel Naveen

The staff behaved well, but the stay was extremely unpleasant. There were lots of bedbugs in the beds, and some came home with us in our luggage. The hotel had been freshly painted, but it clearly lacked pest control, which is a serious problem. There was no restaurant inside, and even in September, hot water wasn’t available. The hotel refused to provide hot water or a shaving kit, and the towels smelled awful. I couldn’t sleep all night.

The room was clean, and all the facilities were nearby. The staff behaved well, and the experience was excellent overall.

Abu Lane is a handy spot, with the Meerut market and local showrooms nearby, though the traffic comes with it. The rooms were only average, and despite their shiny look ours were dusty. I asked for someone to clean, but nobody came. Our AC quit, so we were shifted to another room. Its bathtub was extremely dirty and made the bathroom feel awful. Hot water was available in the washroom during the day, but not at night. Staff were generally polite and service was otherwise good. The checkout was the worst part. Manager Mr. Joshi added an extra charge. When we said it was the staff's mistake, he raised his voice and argued, then reluctantly adjusted the bill as if he were doing us a favor. They agree to everything at check-in, then deny it and argue when you leave. I stayed two days and had a horrible time. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The staff were well behaved and the service was great. The rooms themselves were average, and hot water in the washrooms was only available in the daytime, not at night. Abu Lane is right in the heart of Meerut, with markets and local showrooms close by. That convenience does bring a little traffic.
