Lazo Areca Resort

The price felt far too high for the service and facilities at Lazo Areca Resort. My room had no basic toiletries, and the air conditioning struggled to keep it comfortable. The toilet wasn’t clean enough, and breakfast was a letdown, with very few choices and below standard food. Overall, it wasn’t a comfortable stay or good value for the rates. Maintenance, cleanliness, guest amenities, and dining all need considerable improvement.

Our trip was good, but the stay wasn’t. We chose a Superior Room, which was very small and not worth the high price. There was no handwash or shampoo, and the room and washroom smelled weird, with sticky floors. The pool was dirty and full of bugs, and there were bugs and mosquitoes everywhere. Bring a mosquito net if you’re travelling with kids. Food was just okay, and expensive for the quantity. If you eat lunch or dinner at the resort, expect to wait at least 30-40min. They don’t allow outside food in the cafeteria, which is absolutely acceptable, but they also won’t provide cutlery if you bring food from outside. Not every room has a good view.

The cottages have a nice feel, and the grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was decent, and the staff were polite. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Dinner choices and service could use improvement, and the pool would be more enjoyable if it were cleaned and maintained more often.

The food was the worst part. I couldn’t find a single thing worth eating, the prices were higher than five star, and the location meant I couldn’t order from Zomato. The rooms were dirty, room service was below average, and they gave us hand wash in a water bottle. The pool wasn’t cleaned or maintained at all. WiFi was available but didn’t work. This wasn’t what I saw on make my trip.
