Leela Cottages

We went in Jan 2026 and stayed in two Grand cottages, G3 and G4. G4 was so much better that the rooms hardly seemed to be in the same resort. G3 looked cheap and the bathroom was awful, so you can’t count on the same quality at the same price. On the positive side, the location is good, the beach was beautiful and clean, and the small pool was nice. Staff were polite and prompt, and the food was okay. But on the second day, all of us were vomiting through the night. We hadn’t eaten outside the resort, and a family in the next cottage had the same experience. We suspect the water they serve or the restaurant food was the cause. I’ve seen other reviews mention similar problems, and it seems they haven’t treated the water or improved restaurant hygiene.

Leela Beach Club served great food with a lovely view of the Arabian sea. The property is very green, and it opens right onto the beach, though that stretch is rocky. Ashwem beach is a two-minute drive away, and the rooms are extremely spacious. Pets are allowed for an extra INR 500 per day. The furniture and amenities weren’t arranged conveniently, the TV sat at an odd angle, and the bathroom door had no lock. Housekeeping was slow and average, and service and the overall guest experience could have been better to make this an excellent stay.

The location is lovely, the beach is beautiful, and the staff were polite. But our group all got severe food poisoning, and we only ate at the restaurant during our stay. Other guests had the same symptoms. The hotel doesn’t provide sealed water. We booked two cottages from 28 Jan to 1 Feb.

There’s plenty of space, and the rooms are big with colourful furniture that gives them a Hawaiian feel. The resort is pretty, with coconut trees in the garden and a pleasant pool area beside the restaurant. It’s right by a more secluded part of the beach, so there’s some privacy. Morjim, Ashwem, and most party places in the area are easy to reach. The restaurant bar is a nice place to sit and relax, and the bar and restaurant are good. The bathrooms could feel more premium, perhaps with a bathtub or jacuzzi. Breakfast was the weakest part: it’s free, but a third-party vendor serves mostly oily options like parantha, puri, and pav bhaji, plus eggs made to order. They don’t seem to understand the resort’s guests, and I think management should change vendors. Breakfast needs work, and the resort could plan some activities.
