Royal Garden Retreat

It’s just 1.2 km from Nakki Lake, and you can take a nice walk through the market to enjoy the views. We stayed in rooms 1106 and 1107, right across from the pool. They were spacious and comfortable, with enough room for 3-4 people, and the mountain and garden views were refreshing. The pool was clean and well kept, with clear blue water, and they even provided swimming caps for ladies. Eating in the garden or beside the pool was lovely. The food tasted good, and the light background music made it relaxing. There’s a petrol pump directly opposite, and liquor shops right outside, which is convenient. Comfortable rooms, cleanliness, good food, and a peaceful but lively atmosphere make this a great place for families and groups visiting Mount Abu.

The staff were rude, unresponsive, and didn’t cooperate, and basic requests were ignored after we’d paid. Food was overpriced, had very limited choices, and tasted terrible, more like roadside food despite the premium prices. The rooms were only average and nowhere near worth the cost. Royal Garden Retreat feels isolated and inconveniently far from everything, with nothing royal about it. This was my worst hospitality experience in Mount Abu, and the place felt like a tourist money trap. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Save your money and pick somewhere else. 😡

The staff and service were awful, with very little cooperation. We booked in person and later found the online rate was less than half what we were charged, which was 2.5 times higher. We didn’t get the room we’d been promised, and even basic amenities came at an extra charge. In the morning, constant cow and hen noises disturbed us.

They charged a lot, but when we asked for breakfast, the answer was that they only had poha, despite the menu listing many dishes. Our chilli toast order at night arrived as a disgusting sandwich. When we questioned the high charge for getting only poha, they told us to go to their other hotel. They didn’t seem to know whether breakfast was included in the first place. There were no toiletries, the rooms were dirty, and what the website showed was fake. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and useless. It felt like they were looting guests in the name of a hotel. This is a cheap lodge posing as a 3-star property. Don’t waste your money here, never go.
