Our Land Island Backwater Boutique Resort

This is a serene retreat on the backwaters, where you can simply relax and watch the world go by. The resort offers free canoe rides, plus walks through rice paddies and villages, and full board is included in the rates. It's activity eco friendly. The rooms were among the cleanest and most comfortable we've stayed in anywhere in India. We booked two nights, and after the first we were already checking whether we could extend. Lower ratings seem to come from people expecting something else. I don't think you can ask for more.

The peaceful setting and lovely house made this my favorite stay in Kerala so far. The food was the best I’ve had in India, and everyone was so friendly. I loved the nature around us, with the backwaters and birds everywhere. Stay at least 2-3 nights if you can. I had such a relaxing weekend on the island, enjoying the fishing, canoeing, village walk, and birdwatching. Meals are provided for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you can stay there all day without needing outside restaurants, and the food was awesome. It’s quiet and away from the usual daily stress and interruptions. If you’re after TV in your bedroom and a place to lounge, this probably isn’t for you.

This was our favorite stop on our India trip. The team, food, activities, and setting were all wonderful, and the place is cosy, friendly, green, and sustainable. Just keep in mind that you reach the resort by boat from across the river.
