The Lake Paradise Guest House

The scenery at the resort is beautiful, but getting there means parking your car and paying the fee yourself, then taking a five-minute boat ride. Renting a boat costs extra, and private boats from outside are much cheaper. Management was poor, and they charged extra for a bed in cash. Once you're on the small island, there's no connection to the outside world, so bring what you need. The food was average.

The lake view from the top floor rooms is great, and the rooms are clean. AC and wifi are available, while bathroom hot water comes from a centralized solar system, with no heater in the bathroom. Breakfast is complimentary, but other meals are paid. Tell them your food choices from the menu at least an hour ahead so they can prepare it. The resort is on a small island. Go to the nearby jetty and call the coordinator to arrange a boat ride over. They can provide a shikara, houseboat or speedboat depending on what you prefer. Avoid going on a cloudy day.

The grounds are lush and well kept, and there are plenty of shaded spots to sit and enjoy the relaxed backwater life for hours. The property is small and private, with lovely views of the water traffic right in front of you. A jetty provides access to the small island, and service was prompt. The rooms are basic but very clean. Because of my mobility issue, I had a twin bed on the first floor, and I appreciated the excellent mattress and pillow. I enjoyed the stay and wished I could have stayed one more day.

Anthony, the owner, takes care of everything and is so attentive, while the whole team is friendly. It was a real pleasure to stay here, we could just relax. Thank you again for the five nights!
