The sunset over the peaceful backwaters really does make you feel like you’re in paradise. An overnight houseboat trip in Alleppey is a must if you’re there; the boats are beautiful and very luxurious. The traditional fish is delicious, and you can buy fresh fish, crab or lobster at the Alleppey market and ask the boat’s chef to cook it for you. :)

The houseboat and traditional fish dish are definite pluses, and the views are natural and relaxing with a nice breeze. It’s worth visiting the nearby island. Just keep in mind that after a few hours, it may get boring, or at night the mosquitoes may make things uncomfortable.

We had a fantastic trip to India, and the service on the Oberoi Vrinda was impeccable. The food and staff were great too. I only wish we’d spent longer on the boat. I can highly recommend it.

We spent two nights on the boat. The service was outstanding, though the facilities were average and the food was okay. The boat didn’t quite meet the standard I’d expect from Oberoi, but I think it’s still the best option available.

The view is good and there’s a nice breeze, but it’s only enjoyable for a few hours at most. After that you might get bored, and at night the mosquitoes can make you suffer.
