The smaller canoe trips into the estuaries were thoughtfully arranged, and the cruise was a beautiful experience overall. We had booked two rooms and had the whole houseboat to ourselves. The fish and the rest of the menu were tasty, with spice suited to our preference. We stayed on the houseboat from the 18th, checking out on the 19th, and it was a wonderful experience. The three staff members were excellent, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. We’d definitely do it again.

Captain Kunjumon navigated us safely through the backwaters, while Shibumon and Rahesh were attentive hosts who made sure we had what we needed. They clearly cared about making the trip special. The backwater cruise was the highlight of our time with Xandari Riverscapes. The traditional houseboat was clean, comfortable, and in great shape. We enjoyed the homely food, especially the fish, and ending the evening with tea and snacks on the boat was perfect. If you’re visiting Kerala and want to see the backwaters, this is a solid choice. We left feeling we’d experienced something special about the place.

The crew were friendly and polite, and the food was excellent, with an authentic taste of Central Kerala. The boat is well maintained and the service is very good. It would be even better if the crew shared more about the region during the trip.

We hesitated at first about booking a boathouse for our Kerala trip. Xandari came up on social media, and though it cost a little more than other options, we decided to go with them and were glad we did. The service was top-notch, and the whole crew was friendly and humble. Honey deserves a special mention. She was cheerful and spontaneous, and we connected with her right away. The food was great, and they made the menu just the way we requested. We only took a half-day trip this time, but I’ll definitely come back with my family for a full day.
