FabHotel Rio House Apartment

We arrived late in the evening after reserving and paying for a fully booked place to stay, but they denied us check-in and told us to leave. We were left on the road without help. I’m still waiting for a response to my multiple emails and calls. This has been our worst experience. If there were a negative score, this place would top the list.

My experience with Fab hotels was very bad. I paid in advance, but after arriving in Mumbai and calling the executive, I was told this property was sold out and wasn’t taking bookings. I had no choice but to try customer support. It took three or four attempts to get through, and then the agent moved my booking to another hotel that was below the standard and price I’d paid for. When we got there, they charged us extra for early check-in at a higher rate. The room smelled strongly of smoke and wasn’t good. I had no choice but to stay one night. Double-check before booking with Fab hotels.

The room was okay, but the shared areas were very dirty. The manager at the time, Yahya, and his team were dirty too. They used the rooms and toilets for personal use, washed their clothes in the toilets, and dried them there. Breakfast was pathetic, brought in from a roadside thela. I was assured there’d be an electric kettle in the room, but there wasn’t. The property has no board or nameplate, so it was hard to find. Avoidable at the price they charge.

After I checked in and paid in full for two nights, they tried to make me check out after just one day and move to another place. Such an unprofessional approach. The whole experience was very bad.
