Hotel Al Muaaviya

The room is tiny, with barely enough floor space for two people to stand together, so we kept our things beside the bed. Hygiene was just okay, and there was no window, only a small louver opening onto the passage. Still, for around 1k, the location is prime, just a few metres from gulshan e iran restaurant of Crawford market. It had the basics for a couple: bed, fan, AC, TV, attached bathroom, and geyser. My experience was good.

The staff didn't speak English, which made it hard to understand each other, and I don't recommend the place. It's too expensive for what's offered. The rooms were very small, even the 'deluxe' one. The hot water didn't work, so we had to switch rooms, and then found two cockroaches in the second room.

We paid for the room until 10 am the next morning, but staff tried to make us leave at 7 pm. We also had to pay an extra day just to keep our luggage. They kept disturbing us noisily to clean or check out an hour before we were due, and tried to charge more than we'd booked. Worst staff we've come across in India. Avoid it, the cheap room isn't worth it.

The place is cramped and poor across the board, from basic amenities to staff behavior. The staff are extremely rude, and you have to ask three or four times before they'll bring essentials like water or a dustbin. I moved to a different hotel after just one day.
