Hotel Lucky Goregaon

Breakfast was the bright spot of my one-night stay during the IAAPI trade fair. The non-veg combo was genuinely excellent, 5/5. The AC worked fine and the room lighting was good. Our HR booked the hotel, so we hadn't chosen it ourselves, and honestly that showed. The room was small for two, and the washroom shabby, with dirty walls and a poorly maintained basin. Water pooled on the sloped floor after a shower, making it dangerously slippery, and there was no wiper. The towels were clean but barely absorbed anything, almost like they were synthetic. Not acceptable at any price. The biggest issue was drinking water. They refused free water, which I understand is required by Indian government guidelines for hotels, and only offered packaged bottles. They charged ₹31 for a bottle marked MRP ₹20. One complimentary bottle per guest is a start, but it isn't enough for a full stay, and charging above MRP isn't okay. The restaurant was dim and unkempt, not somewhere comfortable to eat. The Paneer Tikka smelled off, the onions and capsicum were clearly old, and the paneer was hard. They replaced it with Paneer Rara, which was passable, but ₹400 for a 2/5 experience. I ordered Dal Makhani and got yellow dal with butter instead. Dal Makhani is black dal, so this was a basic kitchen error. I also ordered Aloo Mutter and got Aloo Gobi without anyone telling us about the substitution. I'm attaching photos of the food, bill, and washroom to support this. If management reads this, the breakfast team is doing something right. Everything else needs serious attention.

Getting to the hotel from the station is the one problem, since you won't find transport heading there. Otherwise, the hotel is good. The room was very clean and neat, housekeeping and room service were very good, and the complimentary service was excellent. The AC units are very old models and need renovating.

I had a comfortable, satisfactory stay in a well-managed property. The rooms were clean, neat, and well kept. The price seemed a little high for the location, though, and traffic outside our room made noise at night that sometimes disturbed my sleep.

I keep coming back to lucky for the Mutton Biryani. It's mouth-watering, cooked just right, and comes with plenty of meat and delicious potatoes. Highly recommended.
