Hotel Park Shilton

The bathroom was the main problem: the flush didn't work, and the shower sprayed from its sides instead of the center, so barely any water reached me. I had to use a bucket for both the toilet and bathing. At reception, they asked a lot of questions about why we were visiting and where we planned to go, which annoyed me. The room itself was just about big enough for two, with separate beds, a mini fridge, water, and soft drinks. It's a budget hotel, so expectations should be modest. Fairly okay otherwise.

We were able to negotiate a lower price, which was nice. The room was clean and pleasant, though there was only cold water. Staff were polite, if a little slow. There was a fridge with water and Sprite for an extra charge. A nice stay overall.

For this price range, it's a good hotel. The room is small, but the amenities, including a mini bar, are decent. There was a bit of a foul smell, though asking for room freshener could take care of it.

The staff's courtesy and care were the one saving grace. The rooms were damp and awful, the walls were peeling, and the passageways to reception felt grim. The area is interesting, but it isn't scenic or well connected by transport. Mumbai has much better places to stay.
