Hotel Solitaire

Close to the airport, with a clean, spacious room and a well-kept restaurant with a nice ambience. Staff were helpful and courteous from welcome to goodbye, especially Ali. Housekeeping was ready even at odd hours when we needed it. I was totally satisfied and would recommend it.

Beware, this felt like a real scam. I booked two rooms directly through the solitaire website a week ahead, and both were confirmed. Then, at midnight, just 12 hours before check-in, the front office called and told me to find another hotel. They gave no proper reason and hung up. When I called the call center again, the front office guy said, "do what you want, your booking is cancelled and go to some other hotel". He refused to give me the manager's number and told me not to call back. Later I checked booking.com and saw their rooms available for double the price. It felt like they cheated customers just to make more money. Hats off to that team and the hotel staff owner. Guys, don't take the risk.

I asked at the front desk for the ceiling fan and fridge listed among the basic amenities. Mr. Vipul told me they weren't included in my package, so I wouldn't get them. I pointed out that they were clearly listed and asked to speak with the manager. He said he was the general manager and that his word was final, then told me to take booking or amenity questions to my Make My Trip agent. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. His attitude was as if he owned the hotel. I doubt the directors and HODs know how bluntly the front desk staff treat customers. If they do know, they need hospitality training.

The location is prime, so getting around wasn't an issue. The rooms were average and old style, and the food was oily and only average, with very high prices. Customer service wasn't great either. When we called for help or information, staff wouldn't let us finish what we were trying to say.
