The breakfast mix-up the next morning was embarrassing. My booking included breakfast, but the staff member told my guests they had to pay without checking the system. They had already picked up their plates and had to put them back. When I asked him to check, he first insisted breakfast wasn’t included, then later came back to say it was. That back-and-forth in front of everyone felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. Check-in had also been poorly coordinated. I’d been told early check-in might be possible if rooms were available, but when I checked the day before, I was told it wasn’t. I was fine with the regular 2 PM check-in. We arrived at 2, then waited another 45 minutes because rooms on the same floor weren’t ready. In the end, our two rooms were on different floors, which was inconvenient for our group. The poor coordination and incorrect information made the stay frustrating, and the service wasn’t what I’d expect from a professional hotel.

The breakfast had a limited spread: idli sambar was the only cooked food, with bread, cornflakes, and fruit alongside it. When I came in, the waiter confidently told me in Hindi that breakfast wasn’t complimentary and I’d be charged, without checking with reception. After I asked him to recheck, he agreed that breakfast was included. Then, at the table, the same waiter said ginger tea would cost extra, while masala tea was included at the breakfast counter. I was happy to pay the extra charge for tea that had only a little ginger in it. The rooms are good and quite clean, but they don’t feel like a luxury hotel. The mattresses, lighting, and bathroom fittings need an upgrade, and lockers should be added to the rooms.

Sneha Ma’am was especially kind and supportive. She responded whenever I needed help and made sure everything was arranged, with a warm, professional manner that made the stay memorable. We’ve stayed at Lalco residency four times, each visit lasting more than 10 days. The location, staff, and service keep bringing us back. Sneha and Pranali are especially thoughtful and hospitable, and Kirti Bait, the front desk team, and cafe team deserve kudos too. Breakfast coffee is tastier than at many serviced apartments and even Udupi Restaurents. The cafe also offers good breakfast and set meals, though the meal choices aren’t extensive. The rooms are a good size and comfortable, but they badly need refurbishing and upgrades now. Management and the owners should act ASAP. Pigeons are also making the hygiene situation very bad.
