Residency Sarovar Portico Mumbai

Breakfast had a good range, from cereal to hot cooked food, and we were upgraded to a deluxe room when we asked because it wasn’t too busy. The hotel is near Goregaon and a huge mall, and it’s conveniently located for getting around by train. The shower was disappointing. Water drained so slowly that I was standing in a puddle. The windows could use an outside clean, though that seems to be a common maintenance problem. It was also hard to turn the lights off at night: the switch is hidden under the headboard and covered by the mattress, and sudden movement could switch the lights on or off. I had to call reception to find it. A simple sticker pointing to the switch would have helped.

Supriya made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout the meal. She was warm and attentive without hovering, checked in at the right moments, and really seemed to care about getting everything right. She asked about our preferences and made recommendations that were delicious. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Service that personal and thoughtful is rare, and Supriya clearly takes pride in her work. I’d highly recommend dining here and hope she serves us again.

The room felt cramped and uncomfortable, with poor cleaning, dim lighting, and a balcony that looked like it hadn’t been washed in a long time. The refrigerator and AC weren’t working properly, and the problems weren’t fully sorted out during our stay. For what it offers, the price feels too high. It comes across as a basic 2-star hotel, or maybe 3-star at best, and the maintenance could be much better. Around ₹2,500 a night might be acceptable for a short stay, but paying more doesn’t feel worthwhile. With better maintenance and service, this place could provide a much better experience.

I booked Residency Sarovar Portico Malad, Mumbai directly with the hotel for my Uncle & Aunt, from Feb 23, 2026 to Feb 27, 2026. We were promised a King bed, but found a Queen bed after check-in. My uncle is tall, and his legs extend well beyond the bed, but the hotel couldn’t even provide a footstool. The hotel calls itself 4*, yet the room had no fridge until we asked and staff arranged to install one. The safe also didn’t work and had to be replaced. Overall, I’d avoid this Sarovar Portico property.
