The cozy reading corner and little garden were lovely for a bit of quiet and fresh air, and the villa’s balconies and relaxing bathtubs made the spotless, well-kept rooms even nicer. It’s also pet-friendly, which made it work for the whole family. SaffronStays Birdsong felt magical, with beautiful aesthetics and a peaceful atmosphere that made us feel far from the city. Hospitality was the highlight: the food service was incredible, and after I mentioned how much I liked jackfruit, the staff gave us a fresh one straight from their tree. The villa suits groups well, with a great selection of games and a bar counter stocked with everything you could need. Highly recommended for a peaceful Madh Island escape.
Sheshnarayanji served us delicious meals, and the service, food, and cleanliness were perfect during our wonderful stay with my all-girl group of friends. The one concern was the living room AC, which doesn’t cool properly, so we were sweating. In the middle of Mumbai’s peak summer, that made things a bit uncomfortable. I’d suggest the owners consider the room size when choosing the AC. Either two ACs are needed or the current one should be replaced with a 2-ton unit.
The villa was beautiful, and the caretaker was a good person who looked after us well. We had a good day there, but only inside the villa, in the room, and that was it 🙂 The overall experience was good, but the villa had a different name when we arrived from the one shown at booking. The most upsetting part was that there was no private swimming pool like the photos showed. We found out the pool was somewhere else, described as a local swimming pool in a clubhouse 10 min walking from the villa, and the clubhouse people said they’d charge us to use it. I hope next time a villa booking matches the one in the photos.
The Birdsong feels like a little refuge tucked into busy Mumbai. I loved waking to birdsong and feeling the breeze move through the trees. It’s peaceful in a way that’s hard to find in a city that never seems to slow down. The design has a quiet elegance, with thoughtful touches like the swing and the charming machan. It’s somewhere you can really settle in and feel the place, not just spend the night. Serene, soulful, and honestly a 100/10 for me. ❤️
Narayan and Bahadur deserve a special mention. They were friendly, attentive, and clearly cared about making our stay memorable. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and the hospitality was warm throughout. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared too. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.
