United 21 Thane

There are sports facilities on the second and third floors, including table tennis, pool, and a gym, plus a nice selection of food at the restaurant inside. The swimming pool on the ninth floor is beautiful, with open space around it. Room service was good, and I liked the shower panel in the bathroom. Overall, a 5-star experience.

The food is really good. I visited the hotel's spa a few months ago and wanted to share an honest review. They call it a Kerala Ayurvedic treatment, but it's actually a deep tissue massage. People who haven't tried both might not notice the difference.

I had foreign guests stay here for over a week, and it was a terrible experience for them. At check-in, their rooms weren't clean: hair was all over the floor, and there was still poo in a toilet labeled 'clean.' Used towels were hanging behind the bathroom door. We cleaned the place ourselves so the guests wouldn't have to deal with it. The rooms were in bad shape, with leaky, smelly walls, ugly wash basins, and broken door handles. It looked like maintenance hadn't been done for years. Breakfast included with the stay became a problem too. The unfriendly restaurant manager didn't have the guest details and insisted they pay first. Their international credit card didn't really work, which caused a lot of hassle. The one saving grace was a receptionist who tried to help. The others seemed helpless. I wouldn't recommend this hotel even on a tight budget.

I've been to several banquet functions here. The ambience is very good, the food is above average by local standards, and the buffet includes continental dishes like lasagna and bruschetta. The music and staff service are good, and the place is hygienic.
