Grand Valley Resort

We came on May 16 and 17 as a family, booking seven Premium Valley Rooms with high hopes after reading the reviews. The bathroom smell was very strong as soon as we entered. Staff poured bleach after we reported it, but the smell stayed. Cleanliness across the rooms was below expectations and disappointed the whole family. The access road down from the main road is extremely steep, making it hard to walk or drive back up. Fortunately, the hotel does offer jeep pickup and drop-off. Rooms also lacked basic items like shower gel and body wash. The stay didn't meet the expectations set by the reviews. For this amount, you can find another option.

The pool was well maintained and had two sections, with water levels for children and adults. My kids loved it and had a great time. We also had a beautiful view from our room, and the rooms themselves were well kept. Good staff and service, plus a big restaurant with good food. My family and I had a good experience.

The pool was clean, though the chlorine was so strong that it wasn't comfortable to use for long. Our rooms were okay, and the food was acceptable, but there wasn't much choice. Staff were polite and responsive; quicker service and a little more effort would have made the stay better. We came with the shop staff of Sri Balaji Agency (SBA), Srirangam, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. The view and campfire were nice, and the location had a good feel. We visited in December, but it was unexpectedly hot and didn't feel like Munnar's usual climate. Pleasant enough overall, I'd give it 3.5 out of 5.

The balcony looked out over lush tea gardens, and the resort itself was lovely to see. The road up is very steep and narrow, though, so an experienced driver is probably needed to feel comfortable getting there. We found the hotel while chatting with local people. After welcome drinks and a tour of the rooms, we booked. The rooms were maintained well, but one bathroom had a bad smell. The food was good, and the staff responded quickly. There was a pool, plus a bonfire every night and a dance program. A satisfying stay, and I'd recommend it.
