I stayed at Karoli Inn for 2 days, and wasn’t satisfied. It feels more like a homestay than a hotel. There was 24-hour hot water and the breakfast was good. The location is pleasant, though far from Munnar town. The rooms are cramped, with no phone, doorbell, clothes drying stand, or dressing table, and the ceiling fan makes a strange noise. After the first night, staff asked us to move rooms for silly reasons. On the second day there were no bath towels, the bathroom window had no lock, and we weren’t given the Wi-Fi password. I didn’t feel the staff knew how to manage a hotel.

The hotel is around 30 min away, or 13 KM from Munnar city, so you’ll need your own vehicle to get there. There’s an amusement park and boating nearby, and the hotel has about 6 rooms. Food isn’t available at the hotel, but there’s tasty local food opposite. More cleanliness is needed.

The property manager Mr Akhil was especially helpful throughout our stay at Karoli Inn. Everyone was cordial and very helpful. It’s a great place to stay if you want to experience Munnar from end to end.

The rooms are good for the price in this area and feel worth 5 stars. The place is nice, reasonably priced, and the staff are warm and friendly. Just don’t expect too much when you arrive.

There’s no restaurant, and they push you to go out for food, recommending a place that was a complete waste. The caretaker was very rude and ill mannered, with no idea how to speak to guests, and behaved unprofessionally. This hotel was pathetic, and I’d never suggest anyone stay here. Be prepared for your holiday experience to be ruined. We’re exploring legal options against the agent who put us in such a bad hotel.
