The rooms have a traditional feel, and the outdoor surroundings are great. With the wooden ceilings, staying here is also lovely in winter. But the kitchen is shared, not an individual kitchen as you might expect when booking through OYO. It has a table and gas stove beside the accommodation, and you need to ask the caretaker for a pan, hot plate, or anything else each time, depending on whether they’re available. Kitchen use is subject to a fee: you can boil water or milk and make liquid food for kids, and at most an omelette. Anything beyond that costs extra.

There’s a lovely mountain view, and it gets very cold at night. The rooms are clean, and staying here feels homely. Two elderly uncle and aunty are there and care for you like parents. Also, the house is called Theresian cottage, not OYO Exotic stay. There’s no board saying Exotic Stay.

Right in the city and close to the market, this is one of Oyo’s best properties in Munnar. It’s budget-friendly, very clean, and the owner is helpful. The facilities and comfort are great, and there’s a scenic view of Munnar in front of the hotel. I’d recommend it for families and friends.

The house owner is very helpful, and the pricing is affordable. It’s in the centre of Munnar city, so if you want a perfect homestay, go for it.
