Rivertree Munnar

The greenery and views outside were lovely. I spent two nights here and had a good experience. The staff were polite, the rooms clean, and the food was good. Breakfast buffet and room-delivered food were both good, and room maintenance service was good too. One of the best hotels I've stayed at.

River tree is about 15 kms from munnar city, and there's very little space around the hotel for a walk, so you'd need to use the main road. Still, the surroundings are calm and relaxing, and the small parking area was manageable. I had a wonderful stay, and the food at the really good restaurant, peparica, was excellent. It's a decent budget option if good food matters to you.

We stopped for lunch on the way to our resort. The place was roadside and easy to reach, with decent parking, and the views all around were great. It was clean, and the food seemed to be prepared and served hygienically. Depending on what you order, it ranged from above average to very good, and the prices were very reasonable. There were five families, 15 hungry people in all, 11 adults and four kids. Appetizers, main course, and dessert came to under 4k. A memorable meal.

The resort is well kept and has nice greenery around it. The main letdown was the restaurant: they kept saying most menu items weren't available, took ages to bring food, and didn't seem to know how to serve it properly. We had to ask again and again for spoons, glasses, and plates, and the food was always cold by then.
