Spice Jungle Resort

The room looked nothing like the photos from booking, and for the price the whole experience was poor and not worth the money. There was dust and staining in several places, the washroom was unhygienic and poorly maintained, the old furniture was damaged, and the bedsheets didn't feel fresh. Service was slow, and staff weren't very responsive when we complained. Very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend the resort or stay there again. Don't visit, it was a very bad experience.

We were there on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of June, and the experience was very poor. The road to the hotel is entirely off-road, making access difficult and raising concerns about damage to vehicles. There was no proper place for drivers to stay, or even a basic restroom. We were told to use the staff restroom, which was in very poor condition. Guests were also unhappy with the room quality. People may book based on the online photos and reviews, but driver safety and a decent place to rest matter too, especially on a 2-night/3-day trip. A rested driver is essential for safe travel. When we brought this up, management said vehicle safety was our own responsibility. Please check the parking, driver accommodation, and rooms before booking. Management should address these problems. We'd be happy to bring more customers if proper facilities and safety measures were provided.

We had to go through Agoda just to cancel after management refused to take responsibility for the room's condition. When we complained, an employee said, "the building is 15 years old, so we can't maintain it," even though they're still charging full price and taking bookings. The second room they showed us was in the same condition. The Agoda photos labelled deluxe were nothing like the room we got. There was damp, mould, and peeling plaster on every wall, a hole in the bathroom door, and exposed electrical fittings. The serving tray they brought up was dirty, although the glasses on it were wrapped with "specially cleaned for your protection." The irony was hard to miss. One star. Avoid this place, and don't waste your Munnar trip on it.

The food was delicious and came in a good variety, and there was ample parking, which made things convenient. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained. The staff were so helpful and the service was top-notch throughout. I loved the peaceful, relaxing feel of Spice Jungle Resort in Munnar. Highly recommended for a wonderful stay.
