The Edge

The manager and staff were good, but the hotel itself was awful. Our room was very dirty, full of spider webs, and we got bitten by lots of bugs. The bathroom was filthy and stank so badly that opening the door nearly made me vomit. Breakfast had no taste and was very bad, and the lift wasn’t working. This didn’t feel like a resort at all. Don’t waste your money here. We stayed at The Edge Resort in Munnar on 1st June 2018.

We booked this hotel through Oyo holiday packages, which promised us a side-view room like the one in the pictures. Instead, we arrived to find two of the worst rooms ever, with no TV or plugs and a broken bathroom door. When we called for service, they argued with us. Please don’t stay at this hotel.

Watching the misty valley from our balcony over morning tea at 7:00 was lovely. We had a great view, and the room had wall-to-wall glass on the balcony side, blackout curtains and a TV. It was clean and sanitised before we arrived, and the team led by Sreejith gave us a warm welcome. Parking was safe, check-in was quick, and room service was prompt. The rooms aren’t air-conditioned, but the weather was so good that we didn’t mind. The spacious, well-lit bathroom had hot water on demand for the tap and shower. We chose the breakfast package: soft idlis with tasty sambar at 8:00, though there was no chutney. Toast, jam and a choice of eggs were available too. We had an amazing stay at Misty Meadows and would come back on our next Munnar trip.

The room balcony had amazing views across the hills, and the staff were really helpful. The rooms were clean, but the washrooms weren’t good or clean. They seemed old and poorly maintained. The hotel is also 11km from the city centre, so there aren’t many food options nearby.
