La Mer Beach Resort

The rooms were tidy and as good as they’d looked during booking, which is why I’m giving two stars. Everything else felt like a huge disappointment, and the price didn’t feel justified. We arrived after a long drive in the heat and waited nearly 15 minutes because nobody was at reception. The room seemed nice at first, perhaps because the AC had been left on, but later the unit only blew warm air no matter how we changed the settings. The pool was covered in dead bees and insects, and there was no maintenance person around to clean it or take a complaint. We didn’t want to lose another hour waiting at reception, since we had to leave by evening. Lunch tasted quite nice, but the server seemed unhappy and kept dropping dishes on the table as if angry. At checkout, reception was empty again. The lady kept saying “5 mins 5 mins,” so we left and settled the food bill later. The beach access was in a strange spot, with construction right beside it. I tried to put it down to a bad day or a weekday, but after what I paid and how professional the booking conversations had been, I couldn’t shake the feeling I’d been cheated. The resort didn’t live up to that professionalism. My booking was under “saurabh gundecha,” in case you say you have no record of my stay at your esteemed hotel. I’ve described what actually happened, and expect a professional reply.

The nearby beach was filthy and poorly maintained, so it offered no escape from the noise. A major bridge construction project right beside the resort brought constant heavy machinery sounds, making it impossible to relax. We booked a separate cottage expecting privacy, peace, and comfort, but paid a premium for frustration and stress instead. The AC units kept breaking down, leaving us in a sweltering room and repeatedly calling the owner and staff to get them running again. They were supportive and responsive when we called, but having to manage the cooling system every few hours drained the relaxation from our vacation. This place simply isn’t worth the exorbitant price.

Palm trees and the soothing ocean breeze made this place feel like a sanctuary. The natural surroundings and vibe around the property are hard to replace. It’s a lovely bubble for taking time out, whether you want to read in the gardens, do yoga by the water, or just enjoy a simpler pace. I left feeling recharged.

The location looked beautiful, and that was the only good part of my recent stay. Manager Pradnya was rude and argumentative, and even shouted during conversations, which made things uncomfortable. The property seemed understaffed and service was slow. The rooms didn’t meet expectations for the price, and there was no Wi-Fi in the cabanas. Stray dogs roaming inside the property also made it hard to move around comfortably at night. The food menu was heavily overpriced for the quality and service. Definitely not worth what they charge.
