Namaste Beach Resort

Umesh Gade is a very good manager.

The triangular rooms have a charming feel, and the staff were genuinely courteous and helpful. The setting near the beach is the real highlight, with lovely, peaceful coastal surroundings. A few things let the stay down, though, especially the pool, which could have been cleaner, and some general maintenance. It was a mix of pleasant and disappointing.

The in-house restaurant served good food, and for a family of three this was a great place to stay. The beach is about a seven-minute walk away. Service could be better, since meal preparation took a while. Adding more cooks on busy days might help.

We booked two rooms, and the place looked much nicer in the photos than it did in person. The beds were extremely hard, with small, flat pillows, and the bathrooms smelled bad enough that the odor came into the bedrooms through the AC. One room also had an AC that leaked badly. The TV remote only worked when held right up against the TV. The doors had no handles, and the locks were awkward to use. You had to slide the door with the key, or put your finger into the keyhole to move it, which hurt. Staff didn't help resolve the bathroom issue or let us extend our stay. The inconvenience cost us a day of our planned trip, which was especially upsetting since we'd come from the United States to visit India and spend time with my in-laws. The rest of our India trip was amazing, but this stay was a very bad hospitality experience. We spent a lot and didn't feel we got our money's worth. I hope management addresses this so others don't go through the same thing.
