The Fern Brentwood Resort

The location and views are fantastic, and the staff were courteous with both us and the kids. We had a really nice two-night stay, with just one major inconvenience: taxis with yellow commercial plates cannot drive all the way to the hotel on Mall Road, so there’s a level walk of about 70-100 meters. The hotel doesn’t arrange luggage carrying, so we had to find a porter ourselves and pay 130 rs per porter. They charge a lot for the room, so those porter costs could have been included. The hotel said the association wouldn’t let their staff carry luggage, even for confirmed guests.

The evening High Tea was a highlight, especially with the mountains in view as the sun went down. We felt at home from the moment we arrived at The Fern Brentwood in Mussoorie, and the hospitality was top-notch. The property has breathtaking views, and the breakfast buffet was delicious with plenty of variety. Chef Rakesh Singh deserves special thanks; his skill and care came through in every bite. The whole team made our stay memorable, and I can’t wait to come back.

Breakfast at Whistling Pie Restaurant was delicious, and we really enjoyed the experience. Priyanshu Singh was especially attentive, polite, and helpful, making our morning even nicer. We appreciated the service and would love to visit again ❤️

I’ve rarely had a hotel stay this awful. The Fern Brentwood (Marriott Bonvoy Group) felt nowhere near a premium property, and I left feeling it was a complete failure. The rooms were cramped and claustrophobic, with a persistent sewage-like odor. The bathroom was worse: dirty black water came through, and the overall hygiene was revolting. Our room also had wires sticking out of the wall instead of lamps, and it was cold. Staff were mannerless and disrespectful, especially in the way they spoke to women. Basic courtesy seemed absent. The minibar handling felt deliberately dishonest. Staff kept returning to “check” it, then tried to charge us falsely, as if aiming to charge twice. They repeatedly entered and disturbed us over these inspections, which felt invasive and like harassment. They also asked children directly for money in the games room instead of putting the charges on the room, which seemed highly unprofessional and raised serious ethical concerns. Our personal belongings were even confiscated without a proper explanation. The restrictions made the place feel monitored rather than family-friendly. Kids couldn’t play on the lawn, and guests couldn’t play music or even a simple card game outside. Absolutely not worth the money. Avoid The Fern Brentwood (Marriott Bonvoy Group) unless you want your trip ruined.
