The Hosteller Mussoorie By The Streamside, Kempty

We’d had a good visit to The Hosteller Mussoorie before, with decent hospitality and food, so this second stay was a real letdown. We paid around ₹13,000 just for the room and left a day before checkout, frustrated by the experience. The expensive room was dirty, with a broken roof and powder falling onto the bed. The fan spread dust around, bathroom water was missing much of the time, and the sheets, glasses, and kettle were unclean and full of insects. Food had badly declined too. Both veg and non-veg dishes were cold, smelled unpleasant, and tasted horrible, so we left them untouched. Breakfast the next morning was just as disappointing. One younger man on the night canteen shift was especially rude and acted as though we were asking for free food. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting hygiene, decent food, good service, or a positive atmosphere.

Great views, and there’s even a private waterfall on the property. It worked really well for a workation. The only drawback is that it’s a bit far from the centre, but I thought the stay was worth it. 10/10, recommended.

The streamside property near Kempty Waterfall was such a peaceful place to stay. Walking out of the room to waterfalls, birdsong, flowing water, and mountains all around made it hard to leave. Staff, fellow guests, and restaurant service were all great. The triple deluxe room could use more storage, as it felt a bit tight for three people. This was my second stay with The Hosteller, after the Mall Road property, and I’d choose this one again when I visit Mussoorie.

Anil, Manzil, and Prashant made the visit especially fun. Hiking to Dalai Hills with Anil was memorable, and the TT sessions with Manzil and Prashant were a blast. They were caring, helpful, and great to be around. Prashant bhai’s food was fantastic too. The food overall was delicious and reasonably priced. The property is a real gem, with a beautiful waterway running through it and lovely scenery. We’d love to come back. Thanks for a wonderful stay and an unforgettable experience!
