Samasth Palatial Hotel

The room was dirty and smelled really bad, so the stay was awful. We were there as a family, and my husband showed valid ID, but the receptionist still kept us waiting for nearly half an hour and asked unnecessary questions. He spoke to us in a disrespectful, humiliating way. It was upsetting to feel that our family was treated with suspicion while, as far as we could see, unknown boys and girls were allowed into rooms without proper checks. That left a very bad impression and raised concerns about what might be going on there. This doesn't feel like a family-friendly hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it, especially to families.

The rooms were good and the food tasted great, but the service was terrible. We had to call repeatedly just to get a response. The hotel sits right on the highway, and you still need a car to reach the local market. I'd avoid the meal plan. There's no buffet, just a 450 INR per-person dinner allowance, and the restaurant is expensive enough that you'll easily pay extra. We booked for two adults and a child and were charged for the child, yet they gave us only 900 INR credit for dinner and two breakfast plates. Breakfast took four calls to arrive, and all we got was two idlis, one vada, and some rice on the side. We planned to leave by 9:00 AM and started calling at 8:00, but the food didn't come until 9:10. We missed a stop on our itinerary because of the delay. I'd look at other hotels.

The hospitality made our stay memorable, and I'm looking forward to coming back to Samasth Palatial Hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were courteous and helpful, and the place had a great ambience. Food and service were good too.
