OYO 8281 AJ Palace

There’s only parking for one car. Everyone else has to park in the lane, and cars need to move whenever the one in front wants to leave. The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was cramped and there’s no kitchen. Food is brought in from somewhere else. I waited over 15 minutes for the receptionist, who was always on the phone, to get the car blocking the way moved. A bitter experience.

The rooms were in bad shape, and they wouldn’t clean them before handing them over. Staff and the manager were rude, and service was poor. Even after I’d paid the full amount upfront, they charged extra. I was made to check out just 30 minutes after checking in.

We had to look for another room on the street like headless chickens, and lost the amount we’d paid online. Agoda showed a confirmed booking, but the hotel refused check-in and said they weren’t associated with Agoda, even though bookings there still seemed to be available. It was unfair from both the hotel and Agoda, whose customer care still hasn’t replied.

The entrance area and location seemed fine, but the rooms were cramped and noisy because of the fabrication shop next door. The almirah handle was broken, and although the AC and fan worked, the AC kept making noise while we slept. The bathroom was clean, but the shower didn’t work properly. There was no queen bed, so they joined two beds, leaving a gap. At checkout, the receptionist took my phone and gave the hotel a 5 star rating with a 'good' comment in the Oyo app. So I wouldn’t trust the app comments. It may work for single guests or bachelors. Couples should avoid it; families can decide for themselves.
