Kavitha House Homestay

We stayed at their property Kavitha Guest House, while their main property is Suvarna Residency, some 500-700m away. The manager had agreed to a different checkout time, like a 24-hour checkout, but they still made us pay extra. One of their employees stood in front of our car and wouldn’t let us leave until we paid the money they wanted from us. We felt pressured to pay. We booked through booking.com, and after the argument they marked us as a no-show, so we couldn’t leave a review there. I’m writing here because I don’t want other travelers to run into the same issue. I saw another review about this property like ours. The one good thing was that a woman called each day to ask how the stay was and get feedback. In my experience, these people are highly unethical, argue with customers, and won’t listen. I think the people who reviewed them here may be the owners or managers. Be careful.

A few hours after I booked on booking.com, they called and offered me other places to stay. When I said I wanted to keep my booking, they told me the property had already been booked by someone else and they hadn’t updated booking. They wouldn’t cancel it themselves and told me to book elsewhere. When I insisted they cancel, they said they’d mark it as a no-show in the morning. What a pathetic bunch.

There are four rooms in the house, along with a large living area and a kitchen with utensils for making coffee and cooking breakfast or lunch. It works well for a group or family, and hot water is available 24 hours.

There’s one attached western-style toilet, while the other toilet is Indian-style. If that had been mentioned on the booking platforms, it would have saved us the inconvenience.
