The Bunkers Ashram

I spent 10 days here. It's roomy, clean and cozy, and the location is handy, with grocery shops, tourist spots and the railway station close by. But there was only one usable bathroom, and it wasn't attached to any dorm. The host, Vishwanath, was irritating and made me feel like I was living with a controlling mom. There were rules about where I could sit and eat, where I could go, and what I could do. He should be more relaxed and friendly, and remember he's hosting guests, not running an engineering hostel.

This place feels like a proper home rather than a lodge or hotel. The rooms were tidy, especially the washroom and toilet, and the surroundings were peaceful, away from the city's turmoil. Mr. Viswanadhan and his staff are a real asset to the ashram, and the soothing atmosphere was well maintained. Food is the drawback, since there isn't a restaurant nearby and you have to go looking for somewhere to eat. Thanks a lot. If I get the chance to stay in Mysore again, Bunkers Ashram will be my first choice.

The house garden and kitchenette are open for guests who want to relax with a coffee, and the living room has a Smart TV, WiFi, UNO cards and other things you'd expect at a hostel. Staff are friendly, too. I checked in today for the 6 in 1 AC dorm. The quiet location and Mysore weather make for a peaceful stay at an affordable price. There aren't restaurants nearby, so it's a walk of under 1 km to reach them, which is fine for me. Older people who can't walk that far can order food online. A real bargain!

For what you pay, the facilities at the bunkers asharam are amazing, and the owners are really cool. It's one of the most budget-friendly places for backpackers. Parking is available, including for cars, and there's WiFi and a TV in the common area. The washrooms and beds were clean, the beds comfortable, and each one had a power socket.
