Alt Life - Dharamkot - Hostel

I worked remotely comfortably during my stay, so Alt Life is a good fit for digital nomads. The hostel has a relaxed, social feel, and the staff were especially welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I stayed in a dorm that was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The location is excellent, with easy access to places and things you might need. I had a great stay and would definitely return.

What made my stay at Alt life was the people around me. Shoutout to Rahul, Sandi, Akshay and the rest of the staff, who work tirelessly to provide facilities, local guidance, and service. The property itself is remarkable, with plenty to explore inside the hostel, plus hidden gems nearby where you can chill out. I loved every bit of my time there ♥️💯

I ended up leaving and booking another place at my own expense because the experience was so poor. The hostel was extremely dirty: the room was very dusty, including the window sills and panes, and the carpets were visibly filthy and unhygienic. Staying there was genuinely uncomfortable, and it was clear that cleaning and maintenance weren’t priorities. The place also looked nothing like its online photos, which gave a misleading impression. When we raised the problems and asked for a room upgrade, we were quoted nearly twice the original price. That felt unreasonable since we only needed an upgrade because they hadn’t provided a clean room. They offered no refund or partial compensation. Poor hygiene, misleading photos, inflated pricing, and no accountability from the staff. I strongly advise travelers to stay elsewhere.

The morning views and property are perfect, and the lovely staff are attentive and professional. Alt feels like a warm, fuzzy corner I can retreat to, thanks to their kindness 🦋🙂 Rahul is a fantastic Manager who looked after everything effortlessly, and our memorable stay included some excellent conversation.
