Hotel Meghdoot

Getting around is easy in the morning, with vehicles available quickly, but the area feels shady at night. There's a wine shop next door, with drunk people wandering around, and the road gets lonely after a certain time, so we couldn't take a stroll after dinner. The service was good and breakfast was quite nice, though the choices were limited. The rooms were fine, but cleanliness needs attention. I found a few cockroaches in the bathroom, and they didn't provide water bottles or handwash. The fan regulator didn't work properly either. There was no Wi-Fi: one person at reception said it was switched off for renovations, while another said the owner had the password. That was quite unusual, and I had to go to a cafe to get my work done. They should also keep some room freshener so it smells pleasant.

I've been staying here for a long time, and I'm always happy when I come to nagpur. The room rates are reasonable, the staff are very polite, and room service is quick. The rooms are nice, and the hotel is near the station, almost in the city center. There's also a bar and restaurant attached, so you don't have to go out for food or drinks. Definitely recommendable. That's why I gave it 5 stars.

The best reason to stay here is how close it is to the railway station. Staff are good and room service is prompt, but the rooms are only okay. The bathroom is bad, with the toilet facing straight toward a wall and not enough space for anyone taller than average. There's a TV with cable, but the room was overpriced for what was offered. They provided just one bar of soap as toiletries.

The room was filthy, with old walls and furniture, and there was a large rat inside. When we asked where it came from, staff gave vague answers and seemed to have no idea. The TV wasn't working either. We requested an extra mattress but got used, dirty sheets and pillow covers, and no blanket. Staff were rude and dismissive. A man with a large tattoo on his left forearm was the rudest; he told us to leave within 12 hours of check-in, saying our time was up and we'd be charged for another day if we didn't check out. I argued with them for half an hour before we somehow resolved it, but the same man disturbed us at 7 in the morning while my family was still asleep. Worst experience ever!
