Chirping Orchard, Mukteshwar

The best thing here is the setting, with clear views over the mountains and valley, and a garden where we could play badminton. Mukteshwar has plenty of hotels, but this one gave us unadulterated views. We stayed for a good 6-7 days around Diwali and really enjoyed it. The staff helped make it peaceful, then set a festive mood in the evenings with firecrackers. The food was amazing. Since there weren't many guests, breakfast wasn't a buffet, but we could order almost anything from the breakfast menu and it was freshly made. Great value, and I'd happily come back.

The garden had plenty of greenery and room for children to play, while older family members could sit in the sun. We also loved the view of the Himalayan ranges. We came to Chirpping Orchad with our parents, and everyone had a good time. The food, location and service were all lovely, and the staff were humble and kept things hygienic. A place I'd recommend visiting with family.

There was no proper heater for the cold, and the small one they brought after we asked was faulty and barely worked. The geyser also wasn't working properly, and the milk powder left in the room had expired. The basic rooms looked nothing like the online photos. Our stay at Chirping Orchards, Mukteswar was uncomfortable and poorly managed. It wasn't worth the money, and I wouldn't recommend it, especially in winter.

The food was very good and felt homely, and the staff were active and helpful. It was quiet, the rooms were good, and the view was epic. We felt like we were in the clouds. A perfect getaway.
