Corbett Sunrise Resort

The river is right behind the resort, and the calm setting makes it nice to have morning tea out on the grass. There's enough room to play games or relax after a busy day. Staff were good, and I usually struggle to find food I like at hotels or resorts, but the food here worked for me. Getting there can be confusing. The resort is set back from the main road, and the map destination isn't the end of the route. Follow the marked road down the slope, since the inside road doesn't appear on Google Maps. Nearby are the bairaj and a temple, and River fall and safari are easy to reach too. The resort was much better than I expected from the photos. Food ordering hours were breakfast 08 to 10 am and dinner 6:00-9:30 pm. Pool hours are listed as 07:00 am to 8:00 pm, though the crew let us use it at 9:00 pm.

Rooms were clean, the view was nice, and the staff were really good. I had breakfast included through my OYO booking, so that didn't cost much, but anything else you order is really expensive. Even with that, it was a great stay.

It was peaceful to sit and relax there at night, but the resort needs better planning. The grounds are small, and there isn't much space for a campfire, music, or outdoor dining, so those areas felt noisy and not very appealing. The dining hall wasn't great, and cleanliness needs work. The pool was like a pond, small, not clean, and only 5 feet deep at most. We asked them to clean it at least ten times. They made a lot of surface effort, but it still wasn't clean. Some guests said their AC wasn't working either. The resort is a kilometer in from the road, and only one vehicle can pass at a time. When we arrived, nobody was at reception and we waited at least an hour and a half. We'd arrived early, and the receptionist had offered us free early check-in. Our room was okay. I turned on the TV for the World Cup match, but their DTH only had free channels like Doordarshan, DD News, Aaj Tak, and Republic News, no paid channels. The toilet flush didn't work. I asked two or three other visitors and they said the same, so it seems like a common problem. The wall mixer tap shot water about a meter forward when turned on. Plates and cutlery were left at our door for two days without being collected. Don't expect great food, the staff aren't professionals. They designed the resort themselves, and I think it could have been better if they'd hired an architect.

We had a great honeymoon trip here, and the room was the biggest and best laid out I've ever stayed in. It was a lovely hotel with a sense of exclusivity, and most of the facilities lived up to that. The food and breakfast were great, and the staff were helpful and friendly, always dealing with us with a smile. My family felt so welcome. It honestly felt like everyone loved me here, and I liked it so much. The room maid and gate security were very kind, and the afternoon refreshment was a real pleasure. There was nothing to complain about. Thank you very much.
