Debu's The Fern Resort & Spa Jim Corbett, Series by Marriott

The GM, Mr.Shiv Kumar, made our stay extra special by going out of his way to keep our 4-year-old happy and occupied. That kind of care meant a lot to us as parents. Everyone was warm and courteous, and the service was quick. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we felt welcome and looked after the whole time. We’d happily return, especially as a family.

The resort was peaceful, comfortable, and nicely maintained, with courteous staff. I did miss having hard drinks available, and the extra ₹2000 charge for a bonfire seemed unnecessary and too expensive. Still, we enjoyed the stay and I’d recommend it for a quiet getaway.

The groups drinking and making a racket outside the dining hall were left alone while staff stood huddled nearby without intervening. Our room fridge wasn’t working, and the ice we were given had melted into murky water in a glass. After a long drive, this felt like the most poorly managed Marriott property I’ve visited in Corbett, and a waste of time and money. Marriott should be careful about backing and endorsing places like this.

The food was excellent and tasted authentic. Mr. Ravi, the restaurant manager, and his chef took care with even small requests, making sure we left satisfied. The staff overall were sincere, polite, and very helpful, and the resort’s scenery made it feel like a home in the hills. I’ve stayed at many places near Jim Corbett, and Debu's The Fern stood out. We came for a family weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the service and views. Thanks to the management and hospitality teams for such a great experience.
