Deer View Resort

The staff were good and cooperative, and the location is nice, but the property needs more attention to cleaning. Parking could fit no more than three cars. Food choices were very limited, with nearly the same menu each day and dal, roti, and sabji as the only main course. The crockery and tea mugs were dirty and unhygienic. In the room, the AC worked properly, but there was no bathroom shower, and dusty items had been left lying around.

The rooms were colorful, the food was good, and the staff were helpful. There was reliable power, plus basic amenities like a water heater and air-conditioning. The area is good for birding. I couldn’t find anywhere to hang clothes, though, not even a hook or ledge in the bathroom.

The views were okay, but there was no safety from wild animals and no emergency help available. Food was poor in taste and quality, and expensive. The rooms and washroom were just okay, while the reception was in poor condition and the welcome wasn’t good. There was no Wi-Fi or restaurant; the table tennis room had no fan, and the pool game was in bad shape. The swimming pool for children was tiny, more like a bathtub. The resort is inside the Corbet forest near Resort Corbett Machan, but without a signboard or directions along the road, it’s hard to find.

I left after just an hour because I didn’t feel safe, even on a family trip I’d planned with mmt. There were only two staff members, the place was messy and dirty, and dust covered the rooms. The windows and gates were broken, the washroom was unclean, and there was garbage all around. It looked closed, and they weren’t keeping check-in or check-out records. There was no power backup or anyone to open the gate. The resort is inside a village, with no market or help nearby if anything goes wrong. Its website wasn’t working, and I couldn’t find it listed on OYO hotel. I wouldn’t recommend visiting.
