I was completely dissatisfied with my stay at India Hotel - Lake View - Mall Road Nainital. The room photos online made the place look much better than it was, and the actual room was disappointing for the premium price. There are several nearby hotels with better facilities and service at this price. Future guests should check recent, genuine reviews before booking.

We spent five nights at the India Hotel and had a very bad experience. Without a lift or parking, staying there was difficult for us as senior citizens. The food quality was poor, and my wife got food poisoning after eating at the hotel. I’d advise travelers to find a place with homely food, otherwise a lot of money may go on medication.

The main street by Naini Lake is lovely for an evening stroll, with lake views, shopping, momos, and candle shops. Cars are banned from 6-9 PM, which makes walking around peaceful. It gets crowded in season, but the atmosphere is worth it.

The lake view and location were great, but our stay fell short. We booked two family suites in early March and they were freezing. The bathrooms were unhygienic, with hot water available only in the morning, and the linen and towels were substandard. I requested a room heater at EXTRA cost, but got only a small personal heater with red elements that couldn't warm the room. The manager was rude and lacked customer skills when we raised these problems.

India Hotel - Lake View - Mall Road Nainital was one of my most disappointing hotel stays in Nainital. There are plenty of better choices right on Mall Road. Don’t book based only on the online photos.
