We booked online and spent two nights here. The location is very convenient, close to Naini Lake and the Nainital state bus stand, about a one-minute walk away. Hotel Vansh Regency has neat, clean rooms with hot running water, though they're small and feel cramped. The smaller property has narrow stairs leading up to three floors. Rooms facing the bus stand have windows, and the third-floor ones also have a balcony that makes them feel airy. Manager kunwar ji was pleasant and sweet-natured. The hotel can arrange taxis and cabs for local sightseeing and trips to Bhimtal, Naukuchiya Taal and other hill-area places. The location is great, but the rates seem high for what you get.

The hotel is in a good location, but the rooms were a huge letdown. Mr. Kunwar's behavior was unexpected, and I found him unreliable. He charged too much for services. For instance, his taxi quote was ₹2,200, while the same taxi, with better car choices available, could be found outside for ₹1,200-₹1,500. I felt guests were being taken advantage of, so be cautious regardless of his age. Don't book online.

Tallital bus stand is right behind the hotel, and it's just across from the lake. We ate well and found the portions sufficient. The staff behaved well.
