The best part for me was the care Mr. Gaurav Pant showed when I accidentally left my camera behind. He called me himself and made sure I could get it back safely. That kind of honesty and thoughtfulness means a lot. The Himalaya Monk was a peaceful, clean place to stay, with lovely mountain surroundings. I had a wonderful visit and would recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable stay and warm, trustworthy hospitality in the hills.

One thing that made us feel looked after was how the staff brought fresh towels and sachets of coffee, tea, and milk to our room without being asked. We'd arrived in the evening after being out all day and getting soaked in the rain. The stay was good, and the staff were very cooperative. The lack of a lift between floors was the one drawback, and it left the senior citizens in our group unhappy.

Dinner was a highlight, especially the paneer tikka masala, which I really enjoyed. My room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and I had a great view of the mountains. I had a great stay at the Himalayan Monk hotel. The downsides were the unreliable internet, which sometimes disappeared altogether, and the lack of warm water in my shower.

The wedding setting was lovely, with Bhimtal’s calm lake and mountain scenery all around. The peaceful, cozy atmosphere made it easy to slow down and enjoy the surroundings, and the open spaces worked well for the celebrations. The property was well maintained, and the rooms were comfortable. Staff were warm and accommodating, helping everything run smoothly despite the wedding rush. The food was delicious and satisfying after long days of dancing and celebrating. Watching the festivities against that landscape felt almost surreal. For a scenic, peaceful hill setting that can host events, The Himalayan Monk is worth considering. Mountains, a wedding, good food, and great company made for a lot to enjoy.

The staff made a good impression, from the warm check-in to prompt, courteous help from housekeeping and the front desk, including local recommendations. I found the hotel good value for money in a scenic spot. My December 2025 vacation stay exceeded expectations. The spacious room was spotless and hygienic, and its private balcony looked out on peaceful mountains. It was a nice place for morning tea or a rest after exploring. The bedding was comfortable, and hot water and the modern amenities helped it feel like home. Bhimtal Lake is about 2 km away, an easy auto-rickshaw ride. The hotel is on a busy road with good cafes and eateries for coffee or local Kumaoni thalis. Parking was adequate, well lit, and secure, so bringing my car was hassle-free.
